Chapter 10, July Dharma Assembly
When Shakyamuni sat in meditation under a Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya (present-day Bihar, India), in the final stages leading to his enlightenment, the multitude of demons, seeking to divert the Buddha's intentions, began to stir restlessly. The demons hurled a multitude of weapons at Shakyamuni and unleashed a torrential downpour. However, due to Shakyamuni's focused practice and deep concentration, the onslaught of weapons and the deluge felt as light as falling flowers upon him, leaving him unaffected and unperturbed by the various magical assaults, showing no signs of anger whatsoever.
The afternoon sun rises directly above the Great Bodhi Stupa, and the annual sermon conference is drawing to a close
As he spoke, he adopted the posture of Shakyamuni Buddha, sitting cross-legged, with his right hand forming the earth-touching mudra, gently touching the ground in front of him with his fingertips; his left hand forming the teaching mudra, with the palm facing upward, resembling a bowl for holding teachings. He turned and smiled at the living Buddha of Bujiduo, exclaiming: "The living Buddha now requires me to prove the sacred message of our master, and I shall demonstrate it to the living Buddha. The master clearly stated, 'During the time when we, the grassland practitioners, suffer from the snow disaster, those who help and support us are our holy friends; those who come to seek our wealth after our calamity has passed are the incarnations of demons.' You ask me to provide proof, and I shall show it to you." After saying this, he declared: "The living Buddha now requires me to prove the sacred message of our master, and I shall demonstrate it to the living Buddha. The master clearly stated, 'During the time when we, the grassland practitioners, suffer from the snow disaster, those who help and support us are our holy friends; those who come to seek our wealth after our calamity has passed are the incarnations of demons.' You ask me to provide proof, and I shall show it to you." After finishing, he used his right hand to lightly touch his entire body from the top of his head downwards, then pointed with his right hand to the golden statue of the Buddha in front of him, and subsequently touched the embroidery beneath his feet with his fingertips, saying: "Buddha, bear witness for me, Master bless my golden body, 'Moo.'"
As disciples of the Buddha, there is no need for everyone to rebuild the stupa hall for the emanation of the Light Buddha, the Enzagebu Lama, nor to donate their property and money. Some of the stupas in the stupa forest of Kawa Lun Temple are somewhat damaged. If you sincerely wish to honor the Buddha, please gather some incense offerings to repair them. This will be sufficient to represent your sincerity towards the Buddha
As soon as the words of the Earth Goddess were spoken, the demons scattered in all directions, their magical powers nearly depleted
At this moment, the Living Buddha Buji Duoren had already been struck into the Vajra Demon Suppression Formation set up by Elder Liu with a single palm strike. In just one encounter, Buji Duoren was hit with eighteen palm strikes, causing his originally frail body to swell instantly. He was then thrown high out of the Vajra Demon Suppression Formation, landing in front of the twelve disciples he had brought with him. Buji Duoren's disciples were indeed well-trained; without a word, they lifted him and left.
The thousand Buddhas bear witness to your vow
The words of the Zhaleni Lama struck at the heart of the Buddha Dorin Living Buddha, didn't this negate all his efforts? This time, the Buddha Dorin Living Buddha brought twelve disciples from the Dagan Zhu Monastery in southern Tibet, all of whom are seasoned practitioners of Vajrayana; thus, he remained calm despite feeling that continuing the construction of the stupa hall was exceedingly difficult. He still seized upon the weaknesses in the Zhaleni Lama's words to make one final effort. He asked, "Brother Zhaleni, you mentioned that the Enzagebu Lama showed signs to his disciples opposing the construction of the stupa hall; may I ask what evidence there is for this?"
A thousand eyes represent a thousand sages and Buddhas
As the Golden Summit Holy Robe Living Buddha lunged towards Losang, the Zarlene Lama also stepped onto the ground, shooting towards Losang from the platform. In mid-air, the Golden Summit Holy Robe Living Buddha shook a golden bell with his left hand and formed a mudra with his right hand, having already surpassed the highest point of the arc; meanwhile, the Zarlene Lama directly shielded Losang in front of him. With a light wave of his arm, the Zarlene Lama blocked the mudra that the Golden Summit Holy Robe Living Buddha aimed at Losang, and he called out, "Form the formation."
The six elders beside Luosang immediately set up the Vajra Demon-Subduing Formation to protect him. However, Luosang was still struck by the aerial attack of the Great Hand Seal, resulting in his second injury. In a moment of urgency, Luosang could only twist his body to avoid the direct hit, but the Great Hand Seal of the Golden Summit Living Buddha still caused him to spit blood and collapse to the ground.
When Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva enters the realm of hungry ghosts, she holds a bowl filled with food and drink. The beings in the realm of hungry ghosts pursue their desires for all things as if they were ablaze, making it difficult to satisfy them, resulting in their perpetual suffering driven by these desires. The sacred food and drink brought by Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva can alleviate their hunger and thirst, guiding them to transform their material pursuits into spiritual pursuits, namely the pursuit of knowledge and truth
Among all beings in the cycle of reincarnation, only the Sutra of Avalokiteshvara can provide salvation. In order to assist beings from all walks of life in overcoming their respective weaknesses, Avalokiteshvara manifests in an appropriately fitting form.
Those small and large lamas who wish to follow the Buddha of Bujiduo Ren to witness the disgrace of Kawa Lun Temple are now preoccupied with how to maintain their positions as lamas. If Kawa Lun Temple intends to reclaim their monasteries, it now appears to be merely a matter of raising a hand. This group of lamas, with just a slight display of their powers, would find themselves forced to roll up their bedding and leave. The lamas who are ousted from their thrones are indeed quite pitiable, and the strength demonstrated by Kawa Lun Temple is such that, not to mention the Great Ganjuz Temple, even the combined might of the three major monasteries in Lhasa falls short. The absurdity lies in the fact that the Buddha of Bujiduo Ren has yet to realize that his position as a lama is already shaking, and with a moment's carelessness, he risks being overthrown, while still wholeheartedly wishing to bring Kawa Lun Temple under his control.
As the chant "Moo," representing the Vajra Heart, was uttered, the enormous pile of embroidery suddenly radiated brilliance, gently lifting the newly manifested form into the air before the lectern.
As soon as the words fell, the earth emitted a violent rumble, and from the fissure emerged the Earth Goddess and her accompanying deities. The goddess said: "You can see all sentient beings, including the karma of the divine beings. What kind of witness do you seek? If necessary, I can testify that within the three kalpas of this world, you have accumulated good karma as virtuous sentient beings among all sentient beings."
The county magistrate of Gabujie sat anxiously on the preaching platform, while the Living Buddha in the Golden Robe was delivering the final teachings. The square was densely packed with monks who had traveled from afar and herders from the grasslands, all captivated by the teachings of the Living Buddha in the Golden Robe. Just moments ago, Living Buddha Bujiduoren had concluded a brilliant discourse, and now it was time for the eminent monk from India to deliver the final teachings.
The Lord of All Demons, Manri, said: "Did you indeed see the offerings we made in our past lives? However, who can verify that what you say is the truth"
The Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara arrived in the Asura realm bearing a sword, which symbolizes the violent nature of the beings within the Asura realm; the sword is the only language they can comprehend. From another perspective, the sword can also symbolize a power of knowledge, a power that, like a sharp blade, cuts through all the tangled jealousy of the Asuras.
As the final melodious chant of the Golden Summit Saintly Robe Living Buddha echoed, everyone seemed to be hypnotized, prostrating themselves in worship.
Dunzhacuo Rinpoche briefly recounted the situation, further pushing Bhujiduo Rinpoche into a perilous position. Both Dunzhacuo Rinpoche and Zhaer'eni Lama are renowned figures from the northern Tibetan grasslands. Although they have had minor disputes, they began to unite against external threats in order to protect the interests of the grasslands. Bhujiduo Rinpoche, with his cunning mind, attempted to establish a Kadam teaching hall within a Sakya monastery, which led Zhaer'eni Lama to internally sentence him to death. Today, if Bhujiduo Rinpoche manages to escape unscathed in front of everyone, the Kawa Lun Monastery will truly face closure. Today, if Bhujiduo Rinpoche manages to escape unscathed in front of everyone, the Kawa Lun Monastery will truly face closure
As the words "Om, Ma, Ni, Pad, Me, Hum" were chanted one by one, the previously restless crowd fell silent, and the Zarlene Lama began to speak
The county magistrate of Gabujie has also achieved a hopeful outcome, preventing the construction of the Lingta Temple. Repairing the stupa forest of Kawala Temple would only require several tens of thousands of yuan
The thousand Buddhas have prophesied your teachings will reach the borderlands
Having resolved the external threat, Master Zhaleni gazed at Master Hengbuni, who stood dazed at the edge of the platform: "Senior brother, do you have anything to say?"
The tall preaching platform stands over twenty meters high, with one hundred and eight steps leading up to it from both the front and the side. At the front of the steps, a massive pile embroidery is displayed; this embroidery measures forty meters in length and thirty meters in width, crafted from various colored satin cut into the shapes of figures, with wool and cotton padding, embroidered onto a large fabric curtain. Due to its central protrusion, it possesses a strong three-dimensional effect, resembling a relief sculpture. The pile embroidery features a gigantic statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, adorned in gold and multicolored decorations, appearing majestic and compassionate against the red curtain. Shakyamuni sits cross-legged, with his right hand forming the earth-touching mudra, which signifies touching the ground with his fingertips; his left hand forms the teaching mudra, with the palm facing upward, holding a begging bowl, and his eyes are slightly closed. Surrounding him are sixteen protectors, further emphasizing the boundless nature of the Dharma. This pile embroidery is one of the treasures of the Kawa Lun Monastery, encrusted with jewels and gold leaf, and is usually protected by various precious spices; it is only displayed before the public during the Dharma assembly in July each year, making it a rare occasion. Thus, in northern Tibet, the July Dharma assembly is also known as the Buddha Sun Festival, which essentially means bringing the Buddha statue out to bask in the sun. The fervent farmers and herders, upon seeing this enormous pile embroidery of the Buddha, are filled with reverence, and the intense fragrance emanating from the embroidery further purifies their thoughts. Seeing that the aforementioned methods were unsuccessful, the multitude of demons transformed into many beautiful and enchanting women to seduce Shakyamuni. However, Shakyamuni had already attained deep meditation, and even this tactic could not affect him.
Upon witnessing the prowess of the Kawa Lun Temple as demonstrated by the Zhaleni Lama, the Bhujiduo Ren Living Buddha could not help but be astonished, while simultaneously feeling a surge of greed. The Kawa Lun Temple is truly remarkable, having produced so many outstanding individuals in just a few years. Whether it is their unique practices or the presence of some extraordinary treasures here, they must provide significant assistance to the esoteric Buddhist cultivation. And that extraordinary treasure must be the prayer beads held by the young man. The Kawa Lun Temple is truly remarkable, having produced so many outstanding individuals in just a few years. And that extraordinary treasure must be the prayer beads held by the young man.
The county chief of Gabujie lowered his head in despair, as the emotions of the herdsmen reached a peak. If the Living Buddha of the Golden Robe were to further incite this atmosphere, they would be willing to do anything for the Buddha
The Golden Summit Saintly Robe Living Buddha suddenly leaped backward from the lotus throne, twisting his massive body in mid-air as he charged directly at Losang, who was holding the prayer beads. Just as he was about to land, he realized that all of this was being manipulated by Losang. This realization filled him with both anger and humiliation, and he sought to seize the prayer beads from Losang's hands.
The Golden Summit Holy Robe Living Buddha was also taken aback by the sudden appearance of this group of people, inwardly cursing the Zarlene Lama. The atmosphere he had just created was gently dissolved by a single six-word mantra from him. However, he soon noticed Losang, who was holding the prayer beads, and a look of greed and ecstasy appeared on his face. Although it lasted only a moment, most people still noticed the unusual expression of the Golden Summit Holy Robe Living Buddha; at that moment, the majestic and dignified Golden Summit Holy Robe Living Buddha lost all semblance of sanctity. After the Zhaleni Lama performed a respectful greeting to the Dunzaco Living Buddha, he walked to the front of the lectern, focused his mind, and invoked the six-syllable mantra with supreme spiritual power. He decided to employ decisive measures to swiftly resolve the current issue and bring the teaching session to an end
The Zhaleni Lama has already sent the Golden-robed Living Buddha flying far away with a single punch from the sky. In a flash of yellow, the yellow kasaya worn by the Golden-robed Living Buddha was torn off, and he swiftly retreated. From a distance, the Golden-robed Living Buddha lightly touched a low stupa and then fled southward, truly like a flying swan, vanishing in the blink of an eye, elusive and untraceable, indeed worthy of being a Living Buddha with great supernatural powers
Luo Sang is now unable to move even a finger. The master he just called out is not the revered Enzagebu Lama, but is actually invoking Luo Sang's assistance. Luo Sang channels his energy to lift the enormous pile of embroidery. Although aided by the black jade ring, the combined weight of the embroidery and the master is truly overwhelming, exhausting too much of Luo Sang's strength. Moreover, in pursuit of perfection, Luo Sang employs his spiritual power to make the gems and gold leaves on the embroidery emit a Buddhist light, which is far more laborious than merely lifting the embroidery with the master. As the saying goes, it is easy to pick up but difficult to put down; when Luo Sang attempts to return the embroidery to the lectern, signs of his internal energy faltering finally catch the attention of the Holy Monk in the golden robe. In fact, Luo Sang could have utilized the prayer beads to activate the Five Elements Formation and the Vajra Demon Subduing Formation to gather energy, using the accumulated energy to perform miraculous feats. However, Luo Sang still believes that all of this is the work of the six elders, failing to appreciate it carefully, which has led to his current predicament.
The July Dharma Assembly has concluded in such a lively manner
With your boundless power, you benefit all living beings
The Golden Summit Saint Robe Living Buddha understood that since the other party was on guard, the best choice for him now was to quickly leave this place and return to where he came from. Although the cassock was lost, at least the golden crown on his head remained. As for the Buddha of Bujiduo Ren, he would pray for him once he returned home.
The realm of humanity is a world characterized by rationality, where individuals possess the ability to consciously make decisions. Humans, endowed with thought and intelligence, can carefully weigh their actions and, through their inherent knowledge and wisdom, can achieve the ultimate goal and liberate themselves from the cycle of life and death. Therefore, the task of beings in the human realm is to fully utilize their cognitive abilities and strive towards the ultimate objective by overcoming selfishness and vanity.
It seems that the one who suffered the most in the entire event was Luosang
As monasteries located on the northern Tibetan grasslands, there is a mutual understanding of each other's strengths. The Kawa Lun Monastery once held significant power, with successive living Buddhas possessing profound abilities, but never before have there been eight high monks of living Buddha level appearing all at once. Each monastery in Tibetan Buddhism has a living Buddha as its abbot, but this does not mean that every living Buddha possesses the realm of a living Buddha. Among the dozens of monasteries in northern Tibet, the Kawa Lun Monastery wields the greatest influence precisely because its successive living Buddhas have all been high monks with the cultivation of a living Buddha. Living Buddhas are also ranked in levels, and the senior lamas of Kawa Lun Monastery hold a status that is even higher than that of a living Buddha in an ordinary monastery.
Five years ago, a heavy snowstorm descended upon my grassland, causing significant losses for everyone. Many believers lost their loved ones, livestock, and property. I am deeply saddened by this natural disaster and hope that everyone can set aside some money to ensure their relatives can live better lives, that their children can have a happy life, that their yurts can be less drafty, and that they can have more opportunities to reunite with their relatives. This is my greatest wish at present. The great Lama Enzagebu, through the hand of Losang Gnie, revealed a sign to his disciple Gangjia the day before yesterday. Enzagebu said: 'The Buddha of Light does not need a stupa, the Kawa Lun Temple does not need a stupa, and the Tibetan and Northern Library does not need a stupa.' What does Kawa Lun Temple want to do, wholesale living Buddhas? Are the esoteric practices of Kawa Lun Temple really that powerful? Why haven't they been revealed before?
All beings must sincerely bow to you
Almost simultaneously, Buddha Dorje Rinpoche also launched an attack, charging towards the fallen Losang. He could no longer refrain from taking action; just moments ago, he and Lama Zhaleni had already compared him to a devil. If he did not take decisive action, he would truly find himself in a difficult position. His thoughts were similar to those of the Buddha of the Golden Stupa; since he could not repair the Stupa Hall, obtaining the prayer beads would also be a good outcome. However, it was all too late, as Gangjia had already blocked his path. Speaking of inner strength, no one present possessed the depth of Losang's; yet in terms of skill and adaptability in combat, Losang was even inferior to the most ordinary practitioner of Vajrayana.
The suffering and torment endured by beings in hell are not, in fact, punishments from the King of Hell, but rather the natural consequences of their own wrongdoing. Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva appears in the suffering-laden hell with the flame that purifies all. He does not condemn these tormented beings; instead, he allows them to reflect upon themselves in the 'Mirror of Knowledge' to awaken the voice of their conscience and guide them to ascend to a higher realm of existence. The 'Mirror of Knowledge' possesses the power to transform suffering into purification, using fierce fire to cleanse all things. The Grand Lama Hembuni, with tears in his eyes, removed his robe and respectfully presented it to the six elders
The living Buddha from India spoke eloquently, captivating everyone, including the county magistrate of Gabuj, who was drawn to him for the most part.
The beings in the divine realm have attained their current status due to the merits accumulated in their previous lives, yet they fail to understand the true essence of their existence. They begin to believe that their current life is eternal and unchanging; in reality, this existence is merely temporary. Once the merits they have accumulated are exhausted, this way of life will come to an end. Living in comfort and happiness, devoid of suffering, the beings in the divine realm completely lose their spiritual drive, which leads to a gradual decline and a fall into other realms. Thus, the divine realm is not the true goal of pursuit; at best, it is merely a temporary refuge from the sufferings of the mundane world. To this end, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva appears in the divine realm, holding a pipa, playing the resonant sounds of Dharma to awaken the beings from their self-indulgent ignorance.
He stepped up to the front of the lectern, standing atop the embroidered yellow canopy, and began to speak
He never expected that so many living Buddha-level monks were brought forth by Losang in just three days
Avalokiteshvara appears in the human realm in the form of the Buddha Shakyamuni, holding the staff of an ascetic and a begging bowl, which symbolize the complete abandonment of the self. Please join me in singing praises to the Buddha Shakyamuni
I sincerely pay my respects to Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva
The living Buddhas on the grasslands, through the teachings and discussions, have deepened their friendship with the Kawa Lun Monastery, affirming its leadership position in the northern Tibetan grasslands, allowing them to return to their roles as living Buddhas with peace of mind
Unexpectedly, Zhal and the librarian Dalai Lama completely ignored him, and instead said to the two monks who were protecting the young Living Buddha: "You two, immediately escort the Living Buddha back to the White Palace"
The Dunzacuo Living Buddha suddenly exclaimed: "All sentient beings are Bodhisattvas, the mountains and rivers of heaven and earth are all Buddha images, the winds, clouds, mist, and dew are offerings, the universe is the great temple, thunder serves as drums, the sun and moon as lamps, and the vast sky at the horizon is the sutra hall." These words were the divine revelation he received while attaining enlightenment by Dunzacuo Lake, and they also serve as his signature opening statement. With these words, he successfully drew everyone's attention to himself. The Dunzacuo Living Buddha approached the Zhaleni Lama and, using these words, he successfully captured the attention of the crowd. He walked to the Zhaleni Lama, joined his palms in greeting, and said: "Brother, you have arrived late. Just now, the Buddha Dorje Rinpoche proposed to establish his own sutra hall at Kawa Lun Monastery, hoping to frequently spread the teachings of Buddhism on the grasslands; and your monastery's Master Hengbuni has gladly agreed. This is truly a cause for celebration. From now on, Kawa Lun Monastery will have two living Buddhas preaching the Dharma. Could it be that the Sakya and Kadampa schools are truly putting aside their past grievances and merging into one? This is indeed a flourishing era for the Buddhist community. The Sakya school's 'Path and Fruit' and the Kadampa school's 'Threefold Path' can be combined, which is truly a perfect method.
The farmers and herdsmen were captivated by the splendid teachings, witnessed the enchanting display of embroidery, and observed the rare competition among living Buddhas. Each of them was thoroughly satisfied and expressed their intention to return next year
It is important to note that although the Dalai Lama has promoted over 200 living Buddhas in Tibet, very few truly possess the qualities of a living Buddha. Among the more than twenty living Buddhas present today, only four have genuinely reached the level of a living Buddha, including the Buddha Dorin from the Dagan Zhu Monastery in Central Tibet, the Buddha of the Golden Robe, the Buddha of the Shaorba Robe, and the Buddha of Dunzaco. Among them, the Buddha of Dunzaco is a self-enlightened Buddha, meaning he is a living Buddha who has cultivated himself. He does not align with the Buddha of the Golden Robe and has previously raised objections regarding the construction of the Stupa Hall. The introspective Buddha Dorin senses that today's events may not bode well. He is the initiator of the Stupa Hall construction, having observed that the Kawa Lun Monastery lost both the Buddha Sangji Tso and the Lama Enzagebu in recent years, prompting him to seek an opportunity to intervene in the Kawa Lun Monastery. When those two powerful living Buddhas were present, he did not dare to accept their invitation to the Kawa Lun Monastery; he is the representative of the Dalai Lama in Tibet and has been secretly assisting the Dalai Lama in activities aimed at dividing Tibet. This time, he intends to use the construction of the Stupa Hall for the Kawa Lun Monastery to bring the northern Tibetan region under his control. He has already made a vow to Lama Hengbuni that he will request the Dalai Lama to appoint him as a co-living Buddha of the Kawa Lun Monastery, which is why Lama Hengbuni listens to him obediently.
The Golden Summit Living Buddha is expounding on the story of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva's journey through the six realms of reincarnation
When Guanyin Bodhisattva arrived in the realm of animals, she held a sutra in her hand. Because the beings in the animal realm lack cognitive ability and reason, only the scriptures can rescue them from the darkness of instinctual impulses.
The Buddha Shakyamuni spoke in a calm tone to the multitude of demons: 'In your past lives, you have offered hundreds of offerings to the Buddha and the deities, therefore, you do not become the deities of the mortal world. I too have offered countless exquisite and abundant offerings within three kalpas. As a result, you are powerless to prevent me from attaining the achievement of Buddhahood'
The statue of Shakyamuni Buddha on the pile embroidery appears as if it is alive, gradually rising before the eyes of the crowd. The embedded gems and gold leaves on the pile embroidery radiate beams of Buddha light, while the Vajra in mid-air further enhances the solemnity of the precious image, directed towards the sky, the earth, and the people who continuously pay their respects. After a while, the pile embroidery slowly descends amidst the worship of the crowd.
On the other side of the lectern, more than twenty living Buddhas from nearby temples were seated. They were more interested in how the monks brought by this group of Zhaleni lamas had cultivated themselves
Based on the influence of the Zhaleni Lama over the years, the two lamas joined their palms in agreement but did not dare to move an inch, their gazes sweeping towards the Hengbuni Lama. The Hengbuni Lama pretended not to hear, turning his face towards the Bhujiduo Ren Living Buddha of the Dazang Ganju Temple in front. The Zhaleni Lama remained expressionless, waved his hand, and four young monks leaped up from below the lectern, lifting the young living Buddha's lotus seat and departing. Their movements were swift and clean, devoid of any hint of anger; the more than twenty living Buddhas present at the lectern could not help but be astonished: the sudden appearance of the Zhaleni Lama at the lectern was already surprising enough, and while he was a well-known figure whose abilities seemed unfathomable, it was still understandable. However, the subsequent arrival of six elder lamas left everyone dumbfounded. My goodness, six figures of living Buddha status were escorting a young monk of living Buddha status and a seemingly inconspicuous young man. Looking down at the platform, over seventy young and middle-aged monks were lined up neatly, all possessing the cultivation of prospective living Buddhas.
Bujiduoren Living Buddha also found himself at a loss when confronted with the treasures, facing six elder lamas of the same rank. He had no confidence in dealing with them or the situation, and even that young man could have stopped him. How much more so with the six lamas forming the Vajra Subduing Demons Formation, the highest protective formation of the Esoteric Buddhism of Tibetan Buddhism. This was the first time such a formation had been operated by six high-ranking lamas together. It was a chance encounter for him, and from that moment on, Bujiduoren Living Buddha vanished from the sight of the crowd. Before he could even leave the valley of Kawa Lun Monastery, he had already passed away. When Shakyamuni answered, he lightly touched the entire body of the Buddha with his right hand, then pointed with his right hand to the auspicious symbol of the golden wheel, and finally touched the ground in front of him with the tip of his right hand, saying: "My witness is here"
The Zhaleni Lama smiled faintly and looked towards Gangjia. The Bhujiduo Ren Living Buddha felt a tightness in his heart, Oh Buddha, is this monk, who possesses the qualities of a Living Buddha at such a young age, a disciple of the Enzagebu Lama?
The Golden Crowned Living Buddha is a stout monk with a broad face and round ears, wearing a golden crown and a yellow kasaya, holding a golden wheel, and forming the immovable mudra with his hands. He sits in the lotus position on a lotus throne, and from a distance, he truly presents a majestic and dignified appearance
"Om, Ma, Ni, Pad, Me, Hum." A clear six-syllable mantra broke the silence as the Zhaleni Lama suddenly appeared on the lectern. It was as if a basin of clear water had descended from the heavens, liberating everyone from the almost hypnotic state induced by the Living Buddha in his golden robes. County Chief Gabuj was pleasantly surprised to find that Losang was slowly ascending the lectern, accompanied by Ganga, a disciple of the Enzagebu Lama, and six other elders from the Kawa Lun Monastery. It seemed that Losang had already gained the recognition of these monks, who surrounded him as if he were a Living Buddha, allowing County Chief Gabuj to finally breathe a sigh of relief. Losang nodded slightly to County Chief Gabuj, then resumed his dignified demeanor, holding a string of prayer beads, and, under the protection of the six elders and Ganga, stepped onto the final step of the platform
To those endowed with the power to enlighten all beings
The Abbot Hengbuni of Kawa Lun Temple was accompanying the young Living Buddha in meditation on one side of the preaching platform, secretly feeling pleased with himself: After the arrival of the Lama Zhaleni, as the "Tsokhin Wenze" of Kawa Lun Temple, he believed that the temple could make its own decisions regarding this matter. Even if Zhaleni became more powerful after his retreat, he would still have to heed his wishes. When he saw Zhaleni suddenly appear on the preaching platform, Hengbuni did not pay much attention; this was no longer a few months ago. He had invited the Living Buddha of Bugiduo Ren from the Dagan Zhu Temple in Central Tibet, the Living Buddha of the Golden Robe from India, and over twenty Living Buddhas from the grasslands to support him. Zhaleni would not dare to act immediately, even if he wanted to seize power. Moreover, constructing a spiritual stupa for Lama Enzagebu was highly beneficial for Kawa Lun Temple; Zhaleni would surely not oppose building such a meaningful structure for his own temple. Once this matter was settled, wouldn't he be a great contributor? Watching Zhaleni gradually approach, Hengbuni puffed out his chest with pride.
The benefits gained from Kawa Lun Temple have increased significantly. Although the Stupa Hall has not been constructed, Losang has cultivated a group of living Buddhas for them. He has also imparted to them a more miraculous esoteric practice. In the future, throughout all of Tibet, no temple will possess the strength to rival the power of Kawa Lun Temple. Moreover, Losang has brought back the temple's treasured scripture that had been lost for thirty years—the sheepskin manuscript of the "Precious Scroll Sutra" transcribed by Zheqianzan.
The Dungja Cuo Buddha recognized the subtle dynamics of the situation in the arena and decided to go with the flow, completely displacing the Buji Duoren Living Buddha from his pedestal. He was someone who had attained enlightenment by the shores of Dungja Lake and had a profound understanding of the hardships faced by the herders. He harbored a deep disdain for those so-called living Buddhas appointed by the Dalai Lama far away in India, particularly for the Buji Duoren Living Buddha from the Dazangzhu Monastery in southern Tibet, whom he found particularly detestable from their very first meeting. The Buji Duoren Living Buddha had been incessantly promoting the rhetoric of Tibetan independence in recent days, advocating for the so-called prosperous situation of theocratic unity from decades ago. However, the Dungja Cuo Living Buddha was a descendant of the slaves from Dazangzhu Monastery who had fled from the former Tibet to the uninhabited areas of northern Tibet over a hundred years ago, and he inherently loathed the Dazangzhu Monastery for forcing his ancestors into exile. Although the ancestors of the Dungja Cuo Living Buddha escaped the exploitation of the monastery, they did not lose faith in Buddhism; he himself, after his own practice, declared himself the guardian of Dungja Lake. In Tibetan, "Cuo" means lake, thus the Dungja Cuo Living Buddha is indeed the guardian of Dungja Lake.
